What is coaching and how does it differ from therapy?
Though our coaches are also licensed clinicians, there are significant differences between coaching and therapy. Therapy is set to address deeper relational and trauma wounds, often focused on historical elements of your life and relational experiences. This meaningful work is often relevant for those experiencing highly activated symptoms in their life presently (panic attacks, mental health issues, or significant depression and anxiety, to name a few).
Coaching prioritizes moving you forward with laser-focused, intentional, and strategic action-based methods and solutions. In coaching, the relationship between you and your coach may include tools, receiving advice or clear strategies, and helping to maximize your strengths and resources to help you move forward. Coaching is often more short-term than therapy.
Who is coaching most effective for?
We’ll cut to the chase. Coaching is going to be most effective for those who are in a self-assured and motivated psychological state. Coaching is highly beneficial for those who have identified a focused area of their life or internal experience they’d like to improve on.
